He studied at the Academy of the Fine arts in Vienna, Austria, gaining a Diploma in Anatomical Fine Art, then a Masters in Sculpture in Both Paris and Florence. In 1929 he had immigrated to Austria, where he lived in Vienna for a decade before moving to Britain. He left for the United States in 1941, where he joined the Army and served in World War II.
After the war, he set up a studio on East 63rd Street in Manhattan and also in Palm Beach. He lectured in fine art at the University of Bridgeport and University of Mo-Columbia. Noted works include busts and wood carvings of singer Marian Anderson, Prime Minister Ben-Gurion, General Omar Bradley, President Franklin D Roosevelt and Princess Nathalie Paley. His works appear in collections housed in the Lincoln Centre, New York University, The Kennedy Centre, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Galeri Moderne - Paris, New Vienna Conservatory and Lafayette Gallery in Bucharest.
