Title: The West Sands March, St Andrews. Description : My influence for this work was observing the autumn walkers heading towards Tentsmuir along the West Sands beach in St Andrews, Scotland. When I created this work, I wanted the observer to feel the expansiveness of sky and beach against the walkers. Materials: To create the piece, I painted a smooth mixed colour acrylic base layer on mixed media board, then used India ink pens for the outlining and watercolours for the colouring below the headland.
