Mixed media painting by Jaime Bellechasse, 1964. Original signed. Cuban Art

Painting by: Jaime Bellechasse, 1964. Technique: Mixed Media on Cardboard.

Measures: 16 x 25 Inches. Signed, dated and titled on the back of the work: Jaime Bellechasse, July 17, 1964, "De la duda y el estiramiento".

1983, Miami: After graduating from the San Alejandro National Academy, Bellechasse exhibited in Cuba, Mexico and Spain and his illustrations appeared in Revolución, Bohemia and Noticias de Arte, among other publications. He was one of the artists represented in 10 Out of Cuba at the INTAR Latin American Gallery in 1982.

(CINTAS de Artes Visuales, 1981-82, 1983-84). He belonged to El Grupo Espacio, which is hardly known inside and outside Cuba.

The few documents that are preserved of their activities and the fact that very few of their works have reached the present are evidence that their trajectories were seriously lacerated by the State's offensive against youth behaviors and fashions. He appears in the documentary Conducta Impropia by Néstor Almendros and Orlando Jiménez Leal which deals with the persecution of homosexuals and intellectuals in Castro's Cuba from the beginning of the Cuban Revolution until the early 1980s. Pintura de: Jaime Bellechasse, 1964. Técnica: Técnica mixta sobre cartulina. Medidas: 16 x 25 Pulgadas.
