Following the war, Mirko continued to exhibit worldwide (including exhibitions at Knoedler Gallery in New York, the Venice Biennial, and the Sao Paulo Biennial) and complete several major sculpture commissions. In 1957, Mirko was appointed director of the Design Workshops at the Carpenter Center at Harvard University. He later founded the Department of Visual Studies at Harvard.
Mirko continued to exhibit until his premature death in 1969 including exhibitions at the Fogg, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, and the DeCordova Museum. Mirko's works are in collections worldwide.
This mixed media work is inscribed illegibly, signed, and dated 1961 lower left. It is in excellent condition (unframed and attached to backing with mat glue on the corners).
