Maurizio Cattelan's Banana by Il Fruttivendolo, all proceeds to the RNLI
This original piece by the elusive Venetian artist "Il Fruttivendolo", features an original Colombian banana (facing sinister), restrained by a length of playfully manipulated silver duct tape. It is signed verso by the artist and entitled "If this is art, then I'm a banana" (thanks to Private Eye). Upwardly curved, and deliciously mounted on a superior hand cut hardboard, the appealing geddit? Subject is perfect for those who have little appreciation of real originality and creativity in their art collection, but are charitable to others, rather any attention seeking (crypto) wad waving. This work is perfect for connoisseurs, including residents of Cryptoland, wanting to do goodly work using their fortune wisely by supporting a deserving charity - which is largely staffed by volunteers, who risk their lives to benefit others. (Sorry, that was a long sentence). The mixed-media approach adds depth, aroma and texture to the piece, making it a standout addition to any gallery; perishable elements will require replacement. Full instructions and spare tape available on request at no extra charge.
If a dexter portrait floats your (banana) boat, then here's your chance to satisfy your craving. Needless to say, this piece is prompted by the similar but (sadly) un-mounted work, by that canny artist Maurizio Cattelan hats off! However, here 100% of this sale goes to charity, the RNLI - in particular the Southwold branch and crew.
IF UNSOLD IN ADVANCE, THIS "ARTWORK" WILL BE AUCTIONED STARTING 20 DECEMBER AND ENDING AT MIDNIGHT ON NEW YEARS EVE.
