Juin 1978 lower right, Fabriano paper supplier's watermarks along left edge, vintage Eva Cohon Gallery, Ltd. Float-mounted in original or period bronzed patina metal strip molding Mid-Century Modern frame. NOTE: Radic was born in California and worked in the USA, studied at the Ecole Nationale d'Arts Decoratifs, Nice, France and exhibited in Sweden, Germany, France and in the USA. A March, 2017 retrospective exhibition was announced by gallerinorsken, Stockholm. ALSO NOTE: We reached out to Sheila Klemperer of the Eva Cohon Gallery in her retirement who graciously responded that while Radic was not the subject of a Cohon exhibition that they did acquire individual works in trade, a possible source of the item. Just acquired in Central Florida, USA.In sound unretouched estate discovery condition in it's original or period bronzed patina metal strip molding Mid-Century Modern frame. Float mounted with entire sheet visible. Tiny one inch tear at far lower left edge. Small area of ruffling of paper at bottom center edge incorporating two small edge creases.
A few scattered stray pigment marks typical of Expressionist works on paper techniques. The overall hue of the paper has mellowed over the decades with a few insignificant tan to brown spots generally towards the edges that may be moderate foxing rather than pigment.
Frame patina is original, mellowed and handsome but with scattered wear to both front and side edges - samples of frame surface wear in pics. Note that the intense multi-media technique includes scratching and scumbling to the paper, pigments and appliques in selected areas so that a few tears, rubs and digs punctuate the composition, all of which are part of the artist's compositional intention. This item will be approximately 48 x 36 x 9 inches when well packed and weigh approximately 28 pounds. All items insured by our choice of either the carrier or by our own policy.
