Signed on in the middle as Kassák (please see the signature references in the photos I found) + stamp of Gallery? - Could not read it sadly. AVANT-GARDE / MODERNIST movement : style. Size of frame: 12 x 9.44 inches / 30.5 x 24 cm. Size of the artwork inside the frame: 10.03 x 7.48 inches / 25.5 x 19 cm. No glass on front, in the back, the artwork is protected with brown paper. No further examination was done on the art. The artwork shows signs of wear, aging and storing. THE BIO OF THE ARTIST (IN ENG AND GERMAN). Lajos Kassák (March 21, 1887 July 22, 1967) was a Hungarian poet, novelist, painter, essayist, editor, theoretician of the avant-garde, and occasional translator.
Self-taught, he became a writer within the socialist movement and published journals important to the radical intellectual culture of Budapest in the early 1900s. Although he cannot be fully identified with any single avant-garde movement, he adopted elements of expressionism, futurism and dadaism. Als Autodidakt wurde er Schriftsteller innerhalb der sozialistischen Bewegung und veröffentlichte Anfang des 20. Obwohl er sich nicht vollständig mit einer einzigen Avantgarde-Bewegung identifizieren kann, übernahm er Elemente des Expressionismus, Futurismus und Dadaismus.
