Private collection, Havana, acquired from the original owner by the current owner. Guillermo Núñez began his studies at the Theater School of the University of Chile, and later transferred to the School of Fine Arts of the same institution. He belonged to the Plastic Students Group of 1949.

In 1953, he traveled to France and studied at the Grand Chaumiére Academy and at the Arsenal and Opera Library. During this time, he met Roberto Matta. He studied engraving at UMPRUM, the Higher School of Applied Arts in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture of that country in 1959. After a stay in New York, United States, in 1971, he was appointed Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art. In 1975, he was detained during the closure of his own exhibition and later exiled.

He lived for 12 years in France. Luis Guillermo Núñez has dedicated his life primarily to the development of engraving, graphics, painting, installations, and objects. A multifaceted artist, he has also ventured into installation, screen printing and photo serigraphy, set design, and poetry, always focusing on the human being and their problems. His work has focused since the beginning on the study of human violence, starting with the study of the rituals of pre-Hispanic cultures.

Medida: 9 ½ x 9 ½ pulgadas. Colección privada, Habana, adquirido del propietario original por el propietario actual. Inició su estudios en la Escuela de Teatro de la Universidad de Chile, para luego trasladarse a la Escuela de Bellas Artes de esta misma institución.

Perteneció al Grupo de Estudiantes Plásticos de 1949. En 1953 viajó a Francia y estudió en la Academia Grand Chaumiére y en la Biblioteca del Arsenal y de la Opera. En esta época conoció a Roberto Matta. Estudió grabado en UMPRUM, Alta Escuela de Artes Aplicadas de Praga, Checoslovaquia y fue becado por el Ministerio de Cultura de ese país (1959). Luego de una estadía en Nueva York, Estados Unidos, en 1971 fue nombrado Director del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo. En 1975 fue detenido durante la clausura de una exposición propia y luego fue exiliado.

Vivió durante 12 años en Francia. Luis Guillermo Núñez ha dedicado su vida fundamentalmente al desarrollo del grabado, la gráfica, la pintura, las instalaciones y el objeto. Artista multifacético, ha incursionado también durante su larga y reconocida carrera artística, en la instalación, en la serigrafía y foto serigrafía, en la escenografía y poesía, siempre centrando la mirada en el ser humano y su problemática.

Su trabajo se ha enfocado desde los inicios en el estudio de la violencia humana, comenzando con el estudio de los rituales de las culturas prehispánicas.
