Please see our museumappraisers site. Period likely original Mid-Century Modern silvered edge strip molding frame. From a collection of post-War art dispersed north of the Palm Beach, Florida area, 2017. In generally sound attractive estate discovery condition, free of craquelure save for one hairline in one of the painted disks at upper left - the only significant visible damage being three concave amber circular areas that upon close inspection are likely empty sockets where additional probably amber colored marbles were once glued.
The tacks have light rust spotting that lend an aged patination effect and upon extremely close inspection a few painted disks have micro chips to the edges. The wooden panel has an horizontal grain that is visible translucently through the paint that adds an extra element of texture to the composition. The frame has wear at all corners and scattered small and very small front edge dents to all sections. Surface dusty and dirty that could benefit from a cleaning at the time of marble replacement.
