Excellent condition with no damage or conservation. Earle Olsen was born in Chicago on December 26, 1926, to Elsie Anderson and Andrew Olsen, a successful package designer known for creating the pop up tissue box and the Cracker Jack boy who was modeled after Earle's brother.
Olsen studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League of New York. In the 50's he showed with the Bodley Gallery, known for showing Andy Warhol, Yves Tanguy and Max Ernst. His work is in private collections as well as the Whitney Museum of American Art.
In the 1960 and 70's he worked for Kulicke Frames, referred to as the most innovative picture frame designer in the US at that time. In 1974 Olsen left Kulicke to launch his own fine art framing business. Olsen Studio provided conservation framing for museums, galleries, and collectors across New York City, including the Museum of Modern Art.
