DOROTHY KIRKBRIDE ABSTRACT Mixed Media Painting c1980 GREEK FIGURE ON HORSE. INFLUENTIAL 20th CENTURY FEMALE ARTIST - ENGLAND & CHINA. Studied at St Martin's School of Art, London in the late 1940's, Courthauld Institute in 1951.

Member of the modern art movement in China, she lived in Hong Kong during the 1950's. Author of ASPECTS OF LANDSCAPE (published Hong Kong 1987).

Dorothy Kirkbride is listed in Michael Sullivan's 1996 book ART & ARTISTS OF TWENTIETH-CENTURY CHINA. In latter years Dorothy was a member of the Ingleby Barwick Art Group in the North of England.
