David Cook (b. 1957) The Fool Contemporary Scottish Painting

For sale is this fantastic early signed original mixed media painting titled'Do Not Underestimate The Fool' by David Cook. It is signed and dated Nov 1982. 1957 was born in Dunfermline and studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee from 1979-84. He won first prize at the annual student show at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1983, then won a travel award which took him to Paris, Amsterdam, Belgium and Cyprus. He won the Guthrie Award at the RSA in 1985 and was given Scottish Arts Council Awards in 1985, 1988 and 1989.

Che has extensive group showings, including RSA, Mercury Gallery in Edinburgh, Warwick Arts Trust, and Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh. He has had solo shows with The Traverse Theatre, The 369 Gallery, Gruzelier Modern and Contemporary Art, and The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh. The painting is in excellent condition with no fading or foxing. The frame has only minor signs of wear.
