Juan David is the only caricaturist whose works are in permanent exhibition at the Cuban National Museum in Havana. Relevant figure of Cuban art that made the personal caricature his main mode of expression. In his native Cienfuegos, at age 20, he debuted in the world of personal exhibitions, exhibiting some 30 cartoons and some portraits in charcoal. Among the greats of culture caught by his pencil are the painters Picasso, Wifredo Lam, René Portocarrero and Mariano Rodríguez; the dancer Alicia Alonso; the writers Alejo Carpentier, José Lezama Lima, Hemingway, Miguel Angel Asturias, Pablo Neruda and Pablo Armando Fernández; the musicians Ignacio Villa (Bola de Nieve) and Igor Stravinsky.
In the mid-70s decided to devote himself to painting, but without abandoning the caricature, his favorite technique was color ink, attracted by its transparent luminosity. He died in Havana, Cuba on August 8, 1981.

Juan David es el único caricaturista cuya obra está en exposición permanente en el Museo Nacional de Cuba en La Habana. En su natal Cienfuegos, a la edad de 20 años, debutó en el mundo de las exhibiciones personales, exhibiendo unos 30 dibujos animados y algunos retratos en carbón.
