College, 21.5x27, Original Mixed Media Painting

Originally a graphic designer/creative director. I mainly paint with oils and oil pastels, but love photography and watercolors as well. I find a subject that interests me or a photo I have taken and get to work. I'm more and more drawn to the abstract. I find images and faces in my subject that start to emerge as I paint, these will become part of the composition.

I'm drawn to impressionist painting, inspired by Post Impressionism. Van Gogh, Renoir, Degas and Lucian Freud are inspirations.

In my paintings I infuse, humor, story telling, abstract and detail elements. Graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, BFA in Design. Owner of Wiener Dog Graphics and Nancy Van Ness Art. MA, Master of Arts, Fontbonne University.
