Carola Gordon was born in Lucknow in India in 1940 and was educated between 1948 and 1961 at school and university in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa where she graduated in English and Fine Art. Between 1961 and 1963 she studied for English Tripos at New Hall, Cambridge and from 1963 to 1965 she attended Edinburgh College of Art where she studied Drawing and Painting.
