A MIXED-MEDIA COLLAGE-PAINTING ON BOARD. This stunning and very rich. Comprised of: GOUACHE PAINT, printed NEWSPRINT CLIPPINGS, GLUE and BLACK and ORANGE CRAYONS.

It depicts a mixture of SPORTS NEWS CLIPPINGS, NEWSPAPER ADVERTISEMENTS, a painted BASEBALL, a BLACK HEAD with CROWN and some painted SIGNS or COMPANY LOGOS. All Painted in Basquiat's unique NEO-EXPRESSIONIST graffiti-style. This SIGNED ORIGINAL WORK is very complex, featuring mixed messages via NEWS HEADLINES and ADVERTISEMENTS and jarring COMMERCIAL STATEMENTS. It is known as ESSO, ATHLETE, VITAPHONE.
