Painter, born in Glasgow who studied at Glasgow School of Art. 1953-58 and Hospitalfield School of Art.
Paterson was a co-founder of the Glasgow Group. In 1957 with James Spence (whom she later married) and James Morrison. Anda Paterson was a painter of people, principally working people, and a portrayer of human characters. There have been many solo exhibitions, and her work has been shown in Canada, Norway, Poland, Spain, Ireland and New York, and, of course in Scotland.
These venues include the RGI. Inverness Art Gallery and Dundee Art Gallery. Paterson taught at various schools and latterly she was a principal teacher of art at Jordanhill College School.
She was an elected member of the RGI. And examples of her work are in the collections of SAC. Arts Council of Northern Ireland. East Kilbride Borough Council, Scottish Television, Hunterian. And the Lillie Art Gallery.
